The FIDE Candidates Tournament due to start in Madrid, Spain in mid-June 2022 may not take place.
There is a lot of information on the Internet, more and more information that Grandmaster Karjakin, who is suspended for 6 months from FIDE games, can be supported by other chess players - participants in this Candidates Tournament. They simply won't play in this tournament.
The point is that this is really not sporting, as FIDE did and Nakamura Hikaru himself spoke about it live. In particular, he said, “Karjakin did not speak at a chess tournament and did not make a rally at a chess event. And what FIDE did to him is not sporting and not ethical!”
As we all know, Sergey Karyakin is a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, under the Federation Council. And he does his work on TV and at other events - not related to chess.
Moreover, it was reported through Russian channels that Sergey Karyakin intended to create the same kind of Federation. Then FIDE will move to another plan. Russian companies and especially the TV company support this idea.
Sports should be out of politics!

Now about the FIDE Women's Candidates Tournament

FIDE was supposed to hold this tournament back in January 2022. However, everything has been postponed to November 2022.
It is reported on the Internet and especially on social networks that the "International Chess Movement" Organization, which has great connections in the world, is going to take this tournament from FIDE and hold it under its ICM brand, either in Guangzhou, China or in Sochi, Russia, - in August or September 2022.
These are the problems FIDE created for themselves.
Based on this, FIDE can simply fall apart and cease to exist altogether.

Better a small peace, than a small war.
However, FIDE does not want to understand this.
