MORE CHESS ART

Like I mentioned in a previous blog, I have been working on sculpting some Chess pieces. However, I didn't mention that I am creating themed sets. Given that I am a teacher, I work with kids and happen to be aware of what kids think is "cool." Ergo, my target audience/ customer would be younger players (if I was to sell them).

The set you see before you is one of many that I am working on. I have 15 sets I ultimately want to make. Until a year ago, I had no idea that sculpting could be so fun. I have always liked to draw, yet I felt that sculpting was too difficult (most likely the result of all the cheap clay I had been exposed to in high school art classes). Now that I know how much better working with high quality clay is, sculpting has become a medium that I very much enjoy.

Obviously, this set was inspired by a Death/Ancient Egyptian/Vampire theme:

Finally, here is a close-up shot of a Rook from another set. Can you guess the theme of this one?

Thanks for reading.
