French Defense: Advance Variation
I have played the French Defense many times and have studied it more times than I can remember, The Advance Variation is one great variation. It starts with 1. e4 e6 the Vant Krujis opening and 2. d4 d5 3. e5, this is the Advance variation. It gives rapid development for white and black will have a hard time developing their pieces as we prevent the king's pawn from moving and white has more attacking chances.
Bird's Opening
The Bird's Opening occurs after the move f4. This is a good opening as it gives white good attacking chances, it doesn't have heavy theory and many are unfamiliar with the opening. There is a variation you could use in the Bird's opening called Dutch variation. This happens after 1. f4 d5 2. Nf3 g6 3. g3
Caro-Kann Defense: Exchange Variation
The Caro-Kann starts with 1. e4 c6 since we have not challenged the e4 pawn white tries to take full control with d4.
