Hi All,
Sorry for the long gap in putting up a post, so there's lots of stuff to report.
First, The Gorey Chess Club Champion for 2016 is Liam Hearns from Arklow. Although Liam plays for Dun Laoire in the Armstrong Cup, he has been a frequent visitor to the club during the year. Congratulations to Liam who won with a 100% score.

Secondly The Club wishes to acknowledge the achievements of our young star, David Remenyik. David has performed with great distinction in his performances for Ireland and also in recent Irish tournaments.

Also Gorey Chess club wishes to welcome our newest member to the club. Anastasia Mohylna recently achieved 3rd place in her first ever Irish Women's Championship! and the club are very proud that she has chosen to play for our A team.

Thirdly. Manuel Gardenes, Gorey Chess Club trainer played a Simultaneous exhibition in Gorey for charity and won 13 games, drew 1 and lost only one; a great achievement

The Leinster League has started again and Division 4 seems very strong. Best of luck to both the A Team and the B team (Division 7) for the season.

Now that the Winter is here once again, it's the perfect time to relax in the Loch gCarman Arms on Monday nights at 8.00p.m. with a friendly game of chess. Regards to all
