some reading to do...
This blog is for myself. I'm keeping it for personal use, but everyone is welcome to read it, not that anyone will. When I started playing poker a few years I kept a blog to track how well I was learning, so hopefully this blog will offer me the same or greater use.
First, lets cover my past experience. I've played chess since childhood like most people, even took a chess class in elementary school, but I've only recently learned about en passant and exactly how castling is done. I've got a long way to go, I know.
I'm not sure what the best way to learn chess is, seeing as I've never done it before, but with most things a good balance of experience and reading is the smartest way to do it. I have absolutely no one to play chess with face to face so as for gameplay I'm going to have to be restricted to online for the time being.
As for reading the book I'm currently on is Beginner's Chess Course, which is very very basic. I have 3 other books which I plan on reading in a very particular order. I will bring them up in later posts.
