When someone has you in zugzwang (or you have your opponent in zugzwang), it means that no matter where you or your opponent move, you are losing completely. Let's look at an example where someone is in zugzwang. 

Note: In this position, black is in zugzwang.

Next, the game. This one, I was up a rook, but I was planning this game for a while, and I thought it may be cool to play without the rook and attempt to zugzwang my opponent. And I did! Here is the game:
