Making Some Points

“Arriving at one goal is the starting point to another.”
― John Dewey, Democracy and Education

It's been a while since I've posted anything in here and the best laid, or less than best laid plans don't always work out.

This brief entry isn't about chess or lack of chess as the case may be. While I have some ideas percolating along those lines, I haven't put everything together to share as of yet.

However, I just reached a Chess.com milestone for me. I started on the site in late 2009 and quickly found the forums, began posting, asked some questions, but mostly tried to reply to other topics and answer posts while trying to learn the site features myself.

In the process, I have just tipped over to the 100,000 points milestone. Not sure it's a reason for celebration but thought it might be something to write a short blog about (and get a few more points in the process).

I have some ideas for future blog posts about the last few years and some over the board tournament chess I was able to play, along with my less than stellar performances. Maybe something about looking for coaching. Some more posts about books. Along with my other 100,000 goal in puzzles (though that one may be a while to complete).

For now that's it and hopefully the next blog post won't take another couple of years to write.
