I hate the Scandinavian Defense

I really hate the Scandinavian Defense.  I mean really hate it.  I cannot, for the life of me, understand why someone would use it.  You end up behind in development, and I will never be convinced that Black has compensation for getting so far behind. 

Even more frustrating is playing someone who uses it and clearly doesn't know what they are doing.  Note to young players: don't play the Scandinavian until your tactical and strategic ability merits it.  Playing it without a serious attention to tactical pitfalls will result in a nightmare for you.  To wit:
