The Exchange French - creative way of playing for Black

The French Defense is one of the most popular openings for Black after the e4-move. However, there is one line that is a real nightmare for Black - the Exchange Variation. Positions that happen from that variation are usually very symmetrical and pretty boring for many players. Is there anything that Black can do to solve that problem?

No surprise, there is an interesting plan that will make the game interesting. just castle queenside and play sharp positions with opposite-side castles.
