THE 1986 INTER CLUBS
Chess in Carabobeño has a deep historical essence, its beginnings date back to the fifties of the 20th century, in the city of Valencia, beginning to be called “Carabobo Chess Center”.
In the '80s, our region was catapulted as one of the largest nationally and by Presidential decree, the "Cristo Milona" Chess room was created, which receives this name in memory of a player of Greek origin who made life active in said enclosure. The "Cristo Milona" Chess Room was considered the first chess room enabled for holding official events.
Today I leave you an interesting game that I found in our archives of which two of my mentors were the National Expert Francisco Javier Silva Arrayago and the National Master Oscar Gutiérrez, popularly known as “Agüita”, at that time Francisco represented the Club "Khristo Milona "and" Agüita "the Club" José Sequera Paolini ", in the State Club Championship in 1986. Years later both teachers coincided efforts in the Club" Khristo Milona ", from which they gave themselves the task of maintaining the chess gap in Carabobo for more than 30 years that they dedicated to teaching and organizing chess.
I hope the game is of your interest too, until next time.
