i tried to do stalemate against a elo 120 but im 100 so i failed
hehehe this is not the worst mistake ive made so far but its the funniest. at least to me : )
i just learned about stalemates and they are very scary. imagine almost winning and then u accidentally force a draw? that seems frustrating.
my second game against a real person they were rated 120 and were beating me both on time and overall cuz im 100. but i thought maybe i could use what i just learned against them.
i figured there must be something with this piece combination that would stalemate in theory, and if i dont give up and never surrender i have a chance. my king must fight to the last and i would never deny a fellow bad player the learning opportunity to practice endgames.
heres where the game ended:
i lost on time here. but looking at the position later, i thought, why isnt this stalemate? is it because it was my turn and even tho i couldnt move i didnt have time to not move, and it doesnt count as stalemate until i hit the clock with my not move?
haha did u figure it out? i have this problem with chess puzzles too, i keep getting confused which way the pawns go. i gotta work on that.
my list of things to improve on is growing, which means im growing as a player.
- remember the king can take pieces
- remember to move the king two spaces to castle, not the rook
- remember which side is which so i know which way the pawns go
cuz this was a game i played from the start, i probly should be able to remember which way the pawns go in theory. but say its a puzzle or ur spectating and come in late. when theres this few pieces on the board how are u supposed to know? this is a honest question, please tell me if there is a way.
in case u are interested heres the full game. its so fun that u can embed these. i think i was doing ok for a elo 100 until i started running low on time and panicked. im so slow lol
