Me and Thunder_Penguin break the record for 1026 moves, however we didn't repeat and I can't prove we did because the history of games only records till 500 moves. lol

you fought very bravely!! :) Especially that sudden unexpected tactical move 289. Qb7 is a delightful surprise :)

Isn't a game like that a draw after 3 reapeated moves?

I have four incoming games to complement your 1000 + moves, perhaps I could add it to my blog too.  Here are the links...

I offered my opponents a draw but they declined.  Perhaps will play 'til eternity.

I had a legit game against the computer-IMPOSSIBLE that lasted at least 485 moves [i think i lost], it was a fortress position for most of the game, unfortunately i don't think the site saves games beyond a set number of moves (somewhere around 200).  or at least it didn't save the game at the time.

The most I have seen in a OTB tournament game was 321 moves, played by one of my opponents [it was a FIDE event and he had all the moves written down on 6 scoresheets].

Computer should work on its cardio if it gets tired that easily.

Can Black answer that with 7.Na3 Rb8 8.Qxa7 Ra8 9.Qe3 Rxa3! though? Once the knight is gone, ...Nc2+ will win not just a rook.

On move 7, had the computer played 7. Na3, it appears that the queen would have had an escape route along the a7-e3 diagonal, while still simultaneously protecting against the spectre of black's knight fork on c2.

On chess.com, in order for a game to end in a draw by threefold repetition or by the 50-move rule, one of the players has to press "draw" in order to claim. Neither player did until move 1,000.

Why is it not a draw by repetition?

Bahahaha, a subtle and intricate game, played at the highest level.
