Intro to the Fischer Defense (King's Gambit Accepted)

Welcome to this Intro of the Fischer Defense of the King's Gambit Accepted, the line that Bobby Fischer claimed refuted the King's Gambit! 1. e4 e5 2. f4 exf4 3. Nf3 d6!

3...d6! looks like a meek enough move but it does two important things. For one, it opens up the bishop on c8, but it also guards the e5 square. White's knight often makes use of this square in the King's Gambit Accepted, but is unable to in this line.

In this video I go through the main line of this defense in detail for your enjoyment.

Hope you learn something! I know I did!
