Standard #23: Psychological Warfare
Well, making assumptions and losing your focus on the chess itself is not without consequence.
This opponent pulled out a strange move with 4. Qe2!? early in the opening. Instead of considering why such a move would be played I happily continued developing confident I would get a good game. But Qxb5+!? comes and the game takes a weird turn. My opponant played very fast and quite well so perhaps I stumbled in some preparation?
This queenless game was surprisingly vicious and tactical and eventually white gets an advantage and simplifies down into a pawn up end game. Convinced I was lost, I end up missing a winning move! Psychology certainly plays a role and I will be more mindful of it in the future.
I hope you enjoy!
