In this 15 min/10 second game on chess.com I reply to the Sicilian with the aggressive 2. d4!? entering into the Smith-Morra Gambit.  After a full month of studying Mayhem in the Morra by Marc Esserman I was quite happy to see if I could get some play for the pawn sacrifice in the opening.

My opponent does accept the challenge but continues in strange fashion weakening his dark squares.  Hence from the title of this video I think you know what happens next.  This game is instructive on what NOT to do against the Smith-Morra Gambit and also on how to punish when you have a space and development advantage down a pawn.

As usual my pgn comments are without the use of an engine, but engine analysis & improvements are included in the video.

Hope you enjoy and learn something!
