When you play a Benoni and end up in a Caro-Kann :(

In this 15/10 standard game the opening takes an unexpected turn and I find myself in a Caro-kann Defense... even though I played a Benoni?  Unfortunately, these are unfamiliar waters and things go in a bad direction in the opening.  This leads to a bad position and a quick defeat. Ouch!  What went wrong?
