FAQs and Clarifications
-
Random Draw vs. Seeding: We opted for a random draw in the group stage as bughouse ratings can vary significantly, making it challenging to accurately assess players' strengths.
-
Group Stage Duration: We allocated 1.5 months for the group stage, believing this to be sufficient. Unfortunately, if matches couldn't be scheduled in this timeframe, an additional week likely wouldn't have made a significant difference.
-
JeffreyX and Rednova1729 (Catask): These top U.S. chess players and reigning bughouse champions were unable to schedule all their matches due to their busy chess commitments. As a result, they received losses for the matches they couldn't play. We understand that chess takes precedence for them and hope they'll return next year.
