The LANDAU OPEN CUP 2021 is an international online chess tournament between UNIVERSITIES all around the world, organized by a group of students.

Previously they organized a number of massive competitions between universities at Lichess. (On July 3, 2021 as many as 415 players from 38 universities of 19 countries participated). But the Landau Cup will be played on the new student-developed platform https://global-chess.com/ It innovatively enables the holding of a Swiss system event as a team tournament! Competitions will take place on August 1-2, 2021. The co-organizers are MIPT and The University of Toronto.
