Unanalysed

Below is a small selection of my, possibly curious, games from recent online tournaments. Though, overall, I have not played too successfully in the last month.

About two months ago, I asked readers to support my blog here, in order to be able to prepare more analytical material, including opening articles, etc. Some examples of what can be done were posted in this blog. But the positive feedback so far is zero.

Well: more and more often I see that these days people are excited by video chess content, and are not thinking too highly of the written word. And it's rather strange from my viewpoint. I rarely watch any video streams from tournaments, because I know that I can use the same time much more productively by browsing and analysing many completed games in PGN (or reading good serious analytical articles when I'm be able to find them). Among online commentators I prefer to listen to those who can often tell me more about the position than the computer chess programs will show: thus, I can mention Kramnik, and not sure who else.

But the customer's demand should be respected one way or another. These days I'm coaching people online (languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian), have students in a number of countries, and probably will be focused on this work even more in the near future. The price is 30 usd/hour. Some basic details can be found in my profile. Write to me at gmi@europe.com if you are interested.

June 2017: very glad with the news that my new chess book, Understanding the Sicilian, is released! http://www.gambitbooks.com/books/Understanding_the_Sicilian.html
