The secrets of the Eternal are known neither to you nor to me

And this riddle, neither you can read, nor I

In this quatrain, Khayyam conveys the idea that the mysteries of existence and divinity are beyond the comprehension of the human mind and are ultimately analyzed and interpreted by the soul itself.

 اسرار اَزَل را نه تو دانی و نه من

 وین حرفِ معمّا، نه تو خوانی و نه من

 هست از پس پرده گفت‌وگوی من و تو

 چون پرده برافتد، نه تو مانی و نه من

 عمر خیام (440-502 هجری شمسی)

 خیام در این رباعی این ایده را منتقل می‌کند که اسرار هستی و الوهیت فراتر از درک ذهن انسان است و در نهایت توسط خود روح تحلیل و تفسیر می‌شود
