Hermetica - A New Chess Inspired Game

Hermetica - A New Chess Inspired Game

Jan 14, 2018, 8:25 AM 2

"Hermetica is a fun, strategic, well-designed board game." - Todd Bardwick, National Chess Master

Hermetica is a two player, abstract strategy board game where clever combos and dynamic terrain create a battle of choice, tactics and wits.

There is no hidden information or luck mechanics, like cards or dice. Each game can be set up differently from the last, giving you a unique experience every time. To win, players must use tactical movements with four unique Units to move their Adept (King) onto a hex in the opponent's Horizon (Base).

Each turn has 3 actions, enabling players a wide variety of strategies and play styles.  Activating a Unit on the board requires one action and placing a new Unit on the board requires two actions.

Currently Hermetica is live on Kickstarter now until February 7th 2018.  Anyone interested can play the online digital version for free at www.hermeticathegame.com. In addition there is a 5 minute "how to play" video (shown below), a full set of animated rules, the ability to challenge other players to a game, and over 30 puzzles to solve by yourself.

Chris Modica, Charlie Grummon, and Lucas Alvarez are the creators of the Kickstarter Hermetica. Gamers familiar with abstract strategy games and have the desire for replayability will have found their next game to love. Hermetica won "Best tabletop" at Denver Dreamhacks indie playground with hundreds of people playing during the event.  Their Kickstarter campaign can be found here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/951027224/hermetica?ref=e9rhzp
