Chess With An Elf
To all the lovely parents and grandparents.
I love using every opportunity to make my kids’ education fun and exciting. Last year, our Elf(ie) From The Shelf came with daily letters (that I typed up each night) and chess puzzles. My kids loved it so much, that I decided to step it up a notch. This morning (Dec 1), our Elfie came with two chessboards and challenged my kids! One move per day each. They were over the moon!
You can also use those letters to encourage early reading. Type up something fun from Santa or the Elf each night and watch your little ones read eagerly every morning for 25 days in a row! And if your kids like foreign languages – it’s a great way to re-enforce the language!
Oh, and if you want to go aaaall out, try making an Advent Chess Calendar, with a puzzle to solve every day! 😉
What about you? What "tricks" do you use?
Happy Early Holidays everyone! 😊
