Who is Magnus Carlsen?

Sven Magnus Øen Carlsen (born 30 November 1990, Tønsberg ) is a Norwegian chess grandmaster who is a five-time World Chess Champion , a four-time World Rapid Chess Champion , and a six-time World Blitz Chess Champion . Carlsen has been ranked number 1 in the FIDE world chess rankings since 1 July 2011 and is second only to Garri Kasparov (255 months) in terms of time spent as the world's highest-rated player. His highest rating of 2882 is the highest in history.  He also holds the record for the longest unbeaten streak at the elite level in classical chess.  Carlsen is popularly known as the Mozart of Chess. 

Corus Chess Tournament shortly after turning 13 and earned his grandmaster title a few months later. At 15, he won the Norwegian Chess Championship and at 17, he won the top group of Corus. At 18, he surpassed a rating of 2800, becoming the youngest player to achieve this at the time. In 2010, at 19, he reached number 1 in the FIDE world rankings, becoming the youngest person to achieve this.
