The Most Aggressive Opening in Chess: Muzio Gambit
One time I decided to look up the most aggressive chess opening. I got a list of the four most aggressive chess openings (according to the person who made the list):
1. Grand Prix Attack
2. Smith-Morra Gambit
3. Evans Gambit
4. Trompowsky Attack
Yes, these openings are aggressive, but they are far from being the most aggressive openings in chess.
Very far.
Ladies and gentlemen, from the time of romantic attacking chess, I give you... the Muzio Gambit!
I'm pretty darn sure that if you played this against someone now, they would look between you and the board multiple times, dumbstruck.
However, this is not where it ends.
White has now sacrificed two minor pieces to rush to develop and attack black's kingside.
So, if anyone ever asks you, this is by far the most aggressive opening in all chess!
