There are different types of draws in Chess. They are:

  • Agreement
  • Stalemate
  • Repetition
  • Insufficient Material
  • Perpetual Check
  • 50 Move Rule

Agreement: When you want a draw and your opponent accepts, the game ends immediately in a draw.

Stalemate: When a King is not in check, but has no legal moves left, the game ends in a draw.

Repetition: When a position is repeated 3 times, the game ends in a draw. This can happen in a row or in the same game.

Insufficient Material: Not enough material to force checkmate.

Perpetual Check: When you are in check, but wherever your King moves, It's a series of endless checks.

50 Move Rule: No captures or pawn moves has been made for 50 moves, you can claim a draw.
