
Types of Draws in Chess
There are different types of draws in Chess. They are:
- Agreement
- Stalemate
- Repetition
- Insufficient Material
- Perpetual Check
- 50 Move Rule
Agreement: When you want a draw and your opponent accepts, the game ends immediately in a draw.
Stalemate: When a King is not in check, but has no legal moves left, the game ends in a draw.
Repetition: When a position is repeated 3 times, the game ends in a draw. This can happen in a row or in the same game.
Insufficient Material: Not enough material to force checkmate.
Perpetual Check: When you are in check, but wherever your King moves, It's a series of endless checks.
50 Move Rule: No captures or pawn moves has been made for 50 moves, you can claim a draw.
