What Are My Chances? My First Two Losses.
Everyone's bound to have some losses, but these were tough games for me to recall, as they contained a few blunders of the type you hope to never play again in your life. One of my losses was against the top seed @joeskil with a rating of just under 2000, and the other was against an under-rated 900 rated player by the name of @Dtgr.
Hopefully you guys already know what's up, but in case you don't, all of these games I am analyzing are from the 2021 Daily Chess Championship. More specifically, they are all of my games in group 334 during round 1. If you would like to see the live standings of my group for yourself, this link should take you directly there: https://www.chess.com/tournament/293130/player/n00bm4ster
Now, the first game I will show is the one against @joeskil, who at the time had a rating of 1984. It was a miniature where joeskil, playing with the black pieces, was able to quickly put pressure on my king left in the center of the board.
The second game, as I said, was against @Dtgr. He played a very nice game and was able to take advantage of the blunders I was frequently making.
I hope you enjoyed the analysis of those games. I have finished some others in the past couple of days, so I will be making another blog post pretty soon. These, however, were my only two losses so far. Hopefully they can teach a good lesson: that leaving your king in the center of the board does not usually end well.
I will also include, in the comments section, the links to two games that I ended up winning on time. They were quite short, so I will not provide analysis. They were both against the third seed in my group.
Let me know in the comments if you had any thoughts about the games that I did not express, be sure to follow me for updates on my blog, and until the next post,
