100 Games of Blitz Challenge!
As a chess master and coach, I deeply and sincerely believe in the value of blitz for improvement.
The advantage of blitz is very simple: you can play a lot of games quickly. You won’t be thinking many deep thoughts, but winning at chess is not and has never been about thinking deeply. As a grandmaster once said, “In chess, thinking doesn’t seem to help very much.”
Winning at competitive chess is about playing reasonable moves, reasonably quickly, and avoiding blunders. Many people don’t like this, but it’s true. In many ways, blitz is a more effective venue to practice these skills than slow chess.
That’s why I’m launching the 100 Blitz Games Challenge starting in November.
Here’s how it works:
- 1 month
- 5 blitz sessions/week
- 5 games of 3+2/session
That adds up to 100 games of blitz. If you play these games thoughtfully and with purpose (I’ll show you exactly how to do this), they have the potential to transform your game.
To join, simply follow the link below and fill out the form. This challenge is completely free, so what do you have to lose? You’re probably already playing blitz anyway. This is all about making those games more instructive and more fun. See you there!
