New year chess resolutions

First off, I would like to say that I am not opposed to goals. Personally I think goals are very important because once you set a goal, you strive to achieve it.

One thing I am not a big fan of is new years chess resolutions. I am not opposed to regular NE resolultions. The thing that I hate about NE chess resolutions isn't that they're bad, or stupid, or anything. It's just that they're usually super unrealistic. Like: a casual player says: I want to become a IM at the end of the year! That's what bugs me. I'm okay with: I want to get 100 more rating points!(at least at my level). That's why I don't really like some specific chess resolutions.

(Does this sound like a report?)
