Are you a fan of chess or addicted to the worldwide famous game wordle? If you love both, then there is a surprise package for you. A new amalgamation of wordle and chess has been created – called chessle or chess wordle. It’s a wordle-inspired game in terms of chess that has separate gameplay and rules. Although beginners can be confused, once you are accustomed to the game, you will start enjoying it.

Before going deeper, you must know what exactly wordle is. Let’s take a quick look at the latest famous game.

Wordle is basically a daily-based word game which is created by a Brooklyn-based software engineer – Josh Wardle. He has developed a word game that comes every day with a fresh word riddle. Using a series of elimination clues, you have to guess the right word.

To play the game, you have to visit the Wordle website. Here, you will find a 5x6 empty grid of blank boxes. Each of the boxes holds one letter. You have to guess the correct word by typing a 5-letter word. As you won’t get any clues up front, any 5-letter word can be your initial guess. Here, the game will actually start.

After pressing enter, the colour of the letterboxes will change.

👉 If the colour turns into green, the letter is correct and is perfectly placed at the right spot.
👉 If the letter turns yellow, the letter is present in the daily word but is placed in the wrong position.
👉 If you see a grey box, it means the letter is not present in the daily word at all.

Now, let’s come back to the chess wordle again. It’s quite similar to the wordle itself but with a twist of chess rules.

 What do you mean by chessle?

Chessle can be easily described as an online game. It’s a chess game combined with words related to chess. After getting huge popularity across the world, lots of variations of wordle have been launched worldwide. Chessle is one of the variations among them. The game involves chess rules along with the basic rules of wordle.

In chess, the players need to figure out the opening sequence. You will get six moves and only one game is available each day. After you solved a game, the next one will be appeared on the next day according to your local time.

 The basic rules to play chessle:

Chessle is quite simple once you understand its rules. Let’s check out some of the basic chessle rules that you must know before starting to play the game:

👉 If the tiles of NF3 change to the colour green, then NF3 plays on the moves.
👉 If D4 turns yellow, it means D4 will be played in either white or black, but the position is wrong.
👉 If D5 turns grey, it’s not going to play in either white or black.

These above actions are examples of the important colours. Many more advanced rules are there that you will learn after starting to play the game.

You will get two different modes to play the game – standard mode and expert mode. Depending on your expertise, choose the playing mode. When you are playing standard, you have to predict three moves for each of the colours. In the expert mode, you have to decide on five possible moves for all of the colours. Select a mode that suits you the best. For beginners, the standard mode of chess wordle is ideal.

In the game, you will get a chessboard including white and black tokens for chess. The alphabet and numbers will be displayed on the board. Once you have clicked the token, your selected move will be displayed inside the box.
