How to plan in the middlegame according to the opening :Part 1
Planning in the middlegame is the most important phase of the game after the opening moves have made . The opening provides the following things in general if properly played
- safe king
- control over central squares
- co-ordination between pieces
- and a pawn structure to play
- a long and short term strategic plan (for example)
(In marcozy bind the black player wants to trade pieces into endgame because of better pawn flexibility and structure where as white wants to keep pieces and cram black for space ).
The Maróczy Bind
Often times we focus on the opening ,learning new lines ,tricks and its tactical motives but we should also focus on what is left by the opening phase
- the general ideas after the opening
- the best games in the opening played by players
- what was piece placement for pieces for various plan(they may play on queenside or the kingside or even the center of the board )
- which piece is the key piece according to the opening moving to middlegame.
- which piece to trade which to not (but the situation is always different in chess)
Game :1 Battle over the e4 square.
