Bloggers Deserve Recognition!
Have you ever played against a GM? A WFM? An IM?
And when one of those titled badges pops up next to your opponent’s name, don’t you immediately feel a sense of respect?
Now imagine if you saw something like this in blue: TB
And you thought:
🟦 “Wow!!! I’m playing against a Top Blogger!!!” 😱
The invisible importance of those who write:
Bloggers don’t move pieces on the board, but they move ideas. ✍️✨
They create content, bring reflections, tell stories, spark discussions, share chess culture, and help keep our love for the game alive.
How many times have you clicked on a blog here on Chess.com and felt inspired, seen, or simply more motivated to study or play?
If GMs get a red badge… Why not TBs?
On Chess.com, titled players proudly display their achievements.
NM, FM, GM... All of them are rightfully recognized.
Streamers have the purple ST, top coaches get the gold CT, and staff members wear the green CH.
But what about the bloggers?
Even those who have the Top Blogger badge on their profile [🟦 TB] are completely invisible during games.
⚠️ Their opponents never know they’re facing someone who contributes regularly to the platform’s content and culture. ⚠️
Imagine this during your next game:
You glance at your opponent’s name and see a blue badge: TB – Top Blogger.
Right away, you know: "This player is also a recognized content creator on Chess.com."
💡 A visible TB badge during games: a simple but powerful idea! 💡
What if the TB badge appeared just like the others, during games? 🤔
♦️ It would bring instant recognition and respect.
♦️ It would motivate more users to write and express themselves.
♦️ It would show that Chess.com values those who write, not just those who play, stream, or coach.
Recognition fuels motivation!
Maybe you’ll never be a Grandmaster.
Maybe you’ll never coach champions, or stream to thousands.
But maybe you’ll write something that touches people around the world.
Something that teaches, inspires, entertains, or makes someone fall in love with chess all over again.
And for that... You deserve to be seen.
Bloggers deserve recognition.
It’s time for the TB badge to shine on the board too.
