Staff Profiles: Ivan
Today we bring you another instalment in a series of posts to help you get to know the Chess.com team! Today, we meet a man who (if you know him like we do) needs no introduction... Ivan Lackovic! His technical savvy has made the world a better place, both on Chess.com and ChessKid.com too!
Where do you live?
I am a from a small village called Bajsa in Serbia. It's a nice place with lots of wine, rakija and good food, and I think that people are quite nice.
How long have you worked for Chess.com?
Four happy years! :)
What do you do at Chess.com?
I am a programmer, currently working on a relatively big ChessKid project, enabling internationalization (the possibility to have the website in multiple languages). In the past I've worked on a lot of different features throughout Chess.com. It's fun!
What do you like about working at Chess.com?
I love everything! Working remotely, flexible working hours and a good salary which were my main goals (in that order!) when i was looking for a job. And the team is just great! I made many friends here and I enjoy meeting up with everyone, especially on the big company meet-up we have each year in an exotic place.
I also feel I improved a lot since working here - both professionally and as a person. I would love for Chess.com to be the company I retire from!
What are your other interests and hobbies?
Sports, traveling, music, hanging out with friends, good food and wine, meeting new interesting people from all over the world!
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would make the world a happier place and definitely more chill.
0-0 or 0-0-0?
:) I have no idea.
