Two tough tests

I am feeling a bit proud at the moment. For some time, I have been going through Silman's excellent book How to reassess your chess. At the end of each chapter there are some tests that can be used to assess your skills. Silman provides a rating interval for each test. I have been under the impression that my level of understanding is around 1600, and have to a large extent avoided the more advanced tests.

Today, I did no such thing, and tackled two tests that are both rated between 1800 and 2200. And I solved them both! Perhaps I understand more than I think I do.

Can you do the same? Assess the positions and find the best continuation for black.

As you notice, I do not give the complete analysis of the positions or the possible variations. I will leave this up to you. You could of course also buy Silman's book yourself, and read his thoughts.
