I need advice on the Scotch Game

Hey there,

 

Most of the time when I try to play the Scotch, my opponents will avoid the theory. I don't really have any clue how to deal with this. I'm not doing too bad, but it would be cool if I had more resources to draw upon.

 

 

Here is a recent blitz I played that shows exactly this situation. It is a game I lost, which should provide more room for improvement. I probably should not have allowed the Rook to infiltrate. I did not thoroughly analyse it though and that is not the main point of this post anyway. I'd like to have some ideas, if available theory, to handle this situation, which I probably can't avoid.
