Inadequate Piece Cooperation


* It is important to remember that pieces should:

a) Support each other when attacking

b) Protect each other when defending

* Pieces should work together and not get in each other's way.

Puzzle 1:

Neglecting Vulnerable Points
* In the starting position, f7 and f2 are considered to be vulnerable (weak) points because they're only protected by the King.
Question: What are two vulnerable points on the board and why?
Answer: f7 for black and f2 for white because only the King defends those squares.
