Hey guys! How's it going ?

In today's blog I will be telling you guys EXACTLY how to use Bots to boost your elo and learn to play chess more efficiently under time pressure; as well as learn to analyse faster and better.

So stop playing Bots blindly and just for fun. It is high time that someone like you seeks the opportunity to grow every day, with every bot, every time you play. 🫵🔥

- Chapter 2 -

🤖 " Using Bots the RIGHT ➡️ way ! " 🤖

Most of the players on chess.com platform just play Bots with no time limits and for fun, trying to know what they say while playing.

Yep, Bots are fun. But have you ever wondered how good of an improvement tool they can be ?

Playing against a Bot with a time control and a goal in sight, with a learning mindset can really divert your Chess journey to betterment.

Here are the steps to the complete Guide on using Bots on Chess.com to reach 1200+ rating :

..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... ..... .....

1. Practise against Lower Elo Bots in Bullet Time Controls bullet 🤯 :

This playstyle helps you to develop quick thinking and faster & better analysing. Whenever playing against lower elo bots in Bullet Format, the game is in medium mode for you.

Bots tend to ignore most of your mistakes and you will immediately spot theirs at some point, learn to make moves quickly and know how to NOT fold under time pressure, and realize that you have a shot at winning even while having 10 seconds on the clock ! 🤩

When practised over a long period, this helps you develop better and more critical thinking in longer time formats ( Blitz, Rapid ), while also, obviously improving your Bullet rating & games. ✅️

.........................

2. Practise against Normal Elo Bots in Blitz Time Format blitz 🤠 :

As you play Blitz against Normal Elo Bots ( 600-1200 ).... you will realize your true level and know your weak spots while playing.

Your blunders will be spotted and you will learn to play good moves - not the best, but good ones. ☑️

This helps to save time while also maintaing a good position throughout the game.

Nothing more to say, I guess you'll enjoy this and understand me once you try it out. 😉

.........................

3. Practise against Higher Elo Bots in Rapid Time Format live 🧐 :

After all this, your sense of Chess develops significantly.

( At least that's what happened to me.... I think 👀 😅 ).

And then, playing against Higher Elo Bots helps you to know how Higher rated chess players think and analyse.

"You may win or lose, doesn’t matter. What matters that you will learn." ~ (shakespear ahh quote by me)

And that's why this is important. It's the final polish to your efforts in playing Blitz and Bullets. Now, you have upgraded and unlocked a new Gameplay level. Keep practising this and learning from this, before you try out the next phase of the chapter..... 🙃

.........................

4. Try to win against all the Bots with ≤1900 Elo 🤖 ✅️ :

This is not a must but more like a heavily rewarding side Quest. peshka trophies

Each Bot has its own style, and thus, playing different Bots of different levels broadens your way of thinking.

I learnt 2 new and great Opening Principles lessons openings by playing Chess Bots alone.

So yes, I do believe that playing different Bots of individual strengths & flaws is a great way of learning while playing ( especially ≤1900 cuz they won't obliterate you and actually leave room for you to Learn ).

5. Up Your Levels (+jokes) 😁 :

Now that you have come this far in your journey as a beginner, it's high time for you to keep grinding for more and not stop hereeee !!

Play Bullet against Intermediate Bots and see yourself lose pathetically OR win majestically !

Play Blitz against 1700s... just to realize how bad and dumb you are !

And finally, last 20 moves in a Rapid game against a 2200 Bot and feel like an absolute genius and give yourself false hopes of being secretly naturally talented for the game of Chess and actually having a shot at getting better.... WHEN YOU DON'T !!

And yeah, jokes aside. If you think you've improved your rating to 1100 or so, you must up the stakes and do everything as said above to get better. explorer

Else, follow this for fun once in a while and have a good laugh at yourself! peshka

6. Why this helps and how long before results ? ⏳️ thumbup :

This method is what I call "The Bot Pyramid Method"; since it starts you from basics and take you to advanced level just by engaging you in games & time Controls against different bots.

On a personal level, this has worked for me in a miraculous way. In just 3 months ( Dec 2024 - Feb 2025 )... I grew from a noob 832 – 1188 Elo in Rapid and improved my Blitz & Bullet Ratings as well ‼️

The logic for the working of this method is individually explained in each section. Each shows a small portion of the way for improvement. And when you put them all together, it looks like a completed jigsaw Puzzle. tactics

This way, little by little, your skill levels and your grip on your games increases. This is engaging, fun and knowledgeable, paving the path of making you a better player, upgrading your status from "Beginner" to "Intermediate" level. 😎
