The Elephant gambit is not a well known opening amongst most of the chess players. It is a rarely played opening, but the most popular thing about this opening is it's name "The  ELEPHANT gambit" This is how the opening goes :

Here white can capture either of black pawns either by by 3.exd5 or 3.Nxe5. Now, Black is in a passive position while white is far way better than black as white controls more space on the board.

Here, Black response against 3.exd5 include 3...e4 and 3...Bd6 (the Elephant Gambit proper). 3...Qxd5 saves the pawn, but leaves White with a big lead in development after 4.Nc3.

This was one of the main lines of the elephant gambit Hope it helps!
And now you know the elephant gambit.
