the Sturm's Gambit,
The Surge Gambit is a play off of the Bird's opening, and the dutch variation. This opening has many turns that would confuse the opponent and if done correctly, be like first grade math for white. This gambit is perfect for a player who wants to learn an opening worth playing. Let's get into it.
First, we'll be looking at the accepted variation. This will lead to a more open game and allow a lot of plays in the center of the field.
E4 is the only move that is going to help you move than the opponent. If there is a better move, I'd be happy to change this blog. Just tell me in the comments. Responding to e4 for the opponent will lead to and easy crossroad. Them playing f5 will lead to an open game, and a counter gambit, while Nf6 will lead to a closed game, with a response of Nc3 or e5, being aggressive, although control of center will be weakened.
Next, we'll be looking at the declined variation, with either Nf6, or e7, being the mainline moves.
Nf6 can be responded to with Nc3 or e3. Nc3 will lead to more control of the center, allowing a more defensive game. While this may seem like the best move e3 opens up the white bishop, and defends the opening pawn on f4. This move defenses two pieces in one move, which is extremely powerful in the first few moves.
Black may also play e7 on a declined variation, which can be responded by taking the d5 pawn, or moving knight to c3. Taking the d5 pawn will lead to an open variation, which will end up opening the black center, giving white a lead. Nc3 leads to more control over center, while e3 will lead to a stronger defense.
This is all I have in me today. I'm signing off. Tomorrow I will be posting more on this opening. If you can provide useful info for this opening, I'd be more than glad to tag you with your info provided, when pt. 2 of this comes out. thank you for reading. good night.
