ONE WORLD League Players' Manual: Spring 2024
ONE WORLD League's seventh annual season for daily and vote chess is ongoing.
In addition there is a Spring Season 2024 for live and daily chess. On every single day you can participate in our events.
.
Monday: 1WL Players' season (17:00 UTC)
ONE WORLD League's week starts with individual Swiss system tournaments. Like all our live events in 2024 they will be played in four seasonal Championships: Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Regularly participating players are competing to become ONE WORLD League Champions. Tournaments are played in the 1WL LIVE tournaments, a public club which you can easily join.
.
Tuesday to Friday: Multi Club Arenas (17:00 UTC)
On Tuesdays there will be Rapid Arenas, on Wednesdays Bullet Arenas, on Thursdays Chess960 Arenas and on Fridays Blitz Arenas. You'll find the complete list of upcoming and current events in the 1WL LIVE tournaments and a list with next week's events in weekly blog posts here. Once you've joined a Multi Club Arena you can choose one of your clubs (if participating) or one of those, which aren't private.
On Wednesdays ONE WORLD League: Middle East Peace Blitz Arenas will continue. They start 15 minutes after the end of the Bullet Arenas (18:15 UTC).
.
Saturday: 24 hours Seasonal Arenas (07:00 UTC)
Saturday's Arenas last 24 hours and will be played with different time controls: All clubs participate in the same Arena, while they are scoring in three different divisions (base on their results in our inaugural Winter Live Season 2024). Ten clubs compete in a Masters division, ten more clubs in an Expert division and all others a Candidates division. You'll find more details in weekly blog post about our Spring Live Season on Sundays.
Please note: Saturday is also the best day to check upcoming daily matches in your clubs.
.
Sunday: 24 hours Peace for Ukraine! Arenas (07:15 UTC)
ONE WORLD League: Peace for Ukraine! Arenas started just after Russia's war against Ukraine and will continue.
Please note: ONE WORLD League's daily matches in all tournaments start on Sundays at 07:00 UTC. Chess.com will cancel all matches, which don't have enough players at the start time. Checking daily matches in your clubs is important for your clubs' success in competitions.
As already mentioned on Sundays there are weekly reports about the ongoing live season in this blog.

Spring season in daily chess
In addition to our annual daily chess season ONE WORLD League offers a set of tournaments in seven rating ranges with four seasons per year. Clubs can still register for the 960 1400+ Spring Masters, the 960 Spring U1400 Masters, the 1000-1200 Spring Masters and the U1000 Spring Masters. They will be placed in groups of six clubs each and will play simultaneously five matches against the other clubs in their group (1 day/move, 4+ players). After ten weeks these matches will be adjudicated. Three clubs will relegate and group three group winners from a lower division will promote. Right afterwards Summer Season will start.
One example: In the 960 1400+ Spring Masters/Experts/Candidates all matches will start on April 21, provisional results on June 29 will determine placement for the 960 1400+ Summer Masters/Experts/Candidates: Their matches will start on July 21. The six best clubs play in the Masters division, 18 more clubs play in three Experts groups and all other play in Candidates groups. There will be seasonal blog posts with results and medals and you can alway check provisional results in the corresponding forum in the 1WL results.

Some general hints
- Don't wait for messages: During 2023 several of us club admins have been muted and/or threatened seeing our accounts closed for "club spamming". There were already less messages during the last months and it's likely, that admins many will continue reducing sending them to protect their accounts.
- Difficulties to find upcoming daily matches? That's, what I do, if I want to check matches in several clubs. I open a club plage, e.g. https://www.chess.com/club/1wl-live-tournaments, then I add "s/matches" after "club". This way you'll get the usual list of open, current and past events in your club. To check another club, you can simply replace the part with the club name.
- Difficulties to find vote chess games? You can find all your vote chess games with https://chess.com/votechess . Want those from a particular club? Go to your club page and add "/votechess" after "club" to the URL.
- Want to check results from daily matches? Here's the club to go: 1WL results There you'll find forums like "League 2023" with provisional (or final) results from all tournaments. As offline results from Multi Club Arenas aren't reliable, the best way to check them are weekly reports in this blog.
- Want to play more daily chess? ONE WORLD League PLAYERS' LOUNGE isn't one of the strongest clubs on Chess.com yet: You can strengthen this club, which tries its very best ... in nearly all ONE WORLD League tournaments.
- Please only join club competitions, if you always play fair. If your account should be closed at one moment or another, this may ruin the entire season for your club.
