How I beat my first Grandmaster

My first win over a grandmaster came in an online game on Chess.com.

I had been playing for hours trying to reach a blitz rating of 2150... Current blitz rating at the time of post (2105)

I was shocked to be paired against a grandmaster. A wave of excitement filled my body and I was ready. I was playing with the white pieces and I played my usual 1.e4.

I flagged my opponent.

The best thing to do when you're paired against titled players is to hold on for as long as possible even if it means having a worse position and playing quickly. Don't take too much time for one move, it just adds on to the pressure. This strategy seems to work in blitz games.
