Playing against English,C4, or A10

My advice: Open the d-file.

This is just my personally opinion, you don't have to do it. Here's what happened to me in a Tournament game. It's low rated so it may not apply to all.  I get annoyed by this  Flank Opening because i think of it as white trying to get rid of your center d pawn and gain a 2-pawn majority like in Black Sicilian.   

I play e5 because I hate getting into the Symmetrical Variation. I feel as though it's harder for me to decide on moves to make.
