The worst/funniest Openings Pt.2
Hello again everyone! This is the continuation of my series on the worst and funniest Openings you can play. Before starting I would like to clarify that for an Opening to be featured on this list, it has to be included in the Chess.com database. Okay let's begin. Enjoy!
#1: Anderssen Opening: Creepy Crawly Formation, Classical Defense
The reason for this Opening being on this list is that it fails to control the center and completely gives it to black. No long explanation needed for this one.
#2: Ware Opening: Meadow Hay Trap
White is immediatly giving up the center with 1.a4 but the obvious Blunder happens on the second move with 2.Ra3 losing two points of material after the followingg moves:
Also the Knight ends up on the rim of the board which is a suboptimal development square for your knight.
#3: The Irish Gambit
Up until the third move this is a principled Opening. However, after Nxe5 the position is -1.7 and white is down a full piece.
#4: The King's Head Opening
This is bad in a very similar way to 1.f3 (the Barnes Opening) which is covered in the first part of this series (https://www.chess.com/blog/PedroPascalsHubby/the-worst-funniest-openings-of-all-time) but simply put:
you are:
-Blocking your knight from developing into the center
-signifficantly lowering your King's safety
#5: The Jerome Gambit
This does not require a long explanation, you are losing material by choice. After 4.Bxf7+ engine is saying -2.
This is it for this blog, if you have suggestions, feedback or corrections, please tell me in the comments. I hope you enjoyed and thank you for your time and attention. Goodbye!
