Casling

Well, for chess in schools i don't teach more advanced stuff like en passant unless kids are good chess players. Maybe the following classes we will develop pieces, learn more about the center.

This week the concept is Castling, why to do it? to protect the king in his new castle.

I started with three more questions,

- How many pieces know how to jump over the pieces? - Only the Knight.

- How many squares the King can do per turn? Only one.

- How many pieces we move per turn? Only one.

Now we are learning a rule where we can change our answers to all the recent questions, i lied you before. The rook during castling can jump, we can move two squares with the king and two pieces at the same time but remember is a King move so first you need to do his move.

When we can't castle, if we move the king, if the king is in check or walk by or to a square that will put him in danger = check. Also we cannot castle to a rook that we already move.

There are a little more things to say but will be in a new post or in this if i edit it.

Till the next class,
