Checkmate with one rook

After the Queen and King checkmate and 2 rooks checkmate, there is a new checkmate pattern to learn with my students. King and Rook checkmate. Basically the Black King needs to be in a corner at a column or file doesn't matter. The white king need to block him as shown in the second diagram: king opossition. Other rules you can learn is the 3 times repetition that is a draw and also if you can't checkmate - win in 50 moves of the king when there is only a king not any other pieces is a draw too. Remember, King always need to run away from check and not to check. There is a third way of draw, when there are only two kings so be careful to don't lose the rook and the last drawn position is when the king is not in check and still don't have any legal moves. We will see them in new posts.
