Back in the game..... kinda
With the Chinese School out of session until September, it looks as though I will be able to get in a few tournaments over the next few months. And since I can get in three games before 4PM, the Master Treks are a good way for me to stretch out my chess legs. We had a 21-player super-section for the three round event, and since I was rated fifth coming in, I was looking at playing lower rated players early on.
As it played out, this was a very Jekyll and Hyde tournament for me. At times I was aggressive and keeping my opponents on their toes, and at others I was tying myselfs in knots and releasing the tension at bad times. As it played out I won two and lost one. I will blog the other games later, but first comes my first round game.
The bike was rideable, but with such a rusty chain it became very creaky and eventually broke later. More details to come.
