Quick Work

This game is posted mainly for the benefit of my friends who don't really know much about chess, or how quick and violent some games can be. My shortest tournament game was a couple of years ago when my opponent dropped a pawn on move seven and resigned. He could have played on, but chose too save his energy for later rounds. There really wasn't anything instructive about that game so I opted to go with my quickest checkmate.

My opponent was a teenager who was showing some promise but was still fairly new to chess. This was back in my first year of tournament play as well. My opponent made a very serious blunder out of the opening and I was able to pounce on him for a vicious attack.
