Stockfish fairy level 4 blitz game ( Stockfish Fairy level 4 Vs Me, 0 - 1 ) FULL game at bottom of post

A uniquely human behavior (dirty flagging) displayed by stockfish fairy level 4. Sometimes people will say “it’s not really stockfish,” which is just plain wrong. Let’s say they put your brain in a robot. That’s still your brain. It isn’t correct to call the robot you, but it’s certainly your brain.

This game started out somewhat uninteresting, it was a blitz game played live on stream. I had been beating stockfish level 1 - 4 for my own amusement (since I don’t have viewers for some unknown reason)

The first position of note:

Playing 1. G6 and then an early bg7 will concede knight f3, e4 and d4 to white. No self respecting grandmaster would allow this position but the name of the game is development and controlling key squares for the middle game

Many of these games are decided by when and if white plays h4. This was the first chance to do just that.

And one move later there was another. Luckily for me it didn’t happen. Developing the night was extremely hard here. It required knight c6 followed by d5. If not, the queen would be trapped.

I would have never played f5 here:

The idea is that if your knight gets trapped, you capture on e4 and fork the minor pieces.

This is an unfortunate predicament, I decided not to allow the knight capture to keep the pawn in place. So the goal was eliminate white’s bishop and get a knight to defend f7 so I could capture

Stockfish had more or less won, my final attempt to fight back was to give up the knight and clear the diagonal to try for a repetition or checkmate with the queen bishop battery. But all things being equally robotic, it didn’t capture my knight, just stockfish fairy’s version of a blunder.

This sequence was sick. An interesting positional battle :

And at this point I had 23 seconds

Stockfish makes random moves that make it harder for me to win. But it’s not trying to win. It’s trying to flag me. And it got checkmated

5.5 seconds left

Nobody was watching the live stream. Darn.
