Most interesting chess puzzle I’ve ever seen
Not that I’ve seen a ton of puzzles but out of the ones I’ve seen this one caught my eye. Yesterday (25.04.2022) my parents bought me a book of chess puzzles and games and I’ve been solving puzzles from it ever since (I’ve solved puzzles before too) until this morning when I stumbled upon puzzle number 21 which was quite unusual. It was a mate in one and white to move. Try solving it!
Comment your solution. The interesting thing is that when your pawn reaches the end it can turn into any piece a knight, a bishop, a rook or a queen which one would you choose? Probably a queen ‘cause it’s the most powerful piece in chess. But in this case if turn your pawn into a queen you’ll let the enemy king slip right through your fingers! But if you turn it into a knight then CHECH MATE! You win! So sometimes a knight is more powerful than a queen!
