5 Ways To Improve Your Rapid Rating

Do you want to raise your rapid rating but, don't know how? If you do, please continue reading! Here are 5 ways to improve your rapid rating! 

1. Puzzles

Do puzzles every day so, whenever you are playing a game, you will be more familiar with the tactics that are being played by your opponent. You can also use those tactics to help you win games! 

2. Strong Opening

When playing it's important to have a strong opening. It will help you in your mid-game and end-game. If you don't know a strong opening, make sure to check out my blog " What Is CDC?" In the diagram below white has a strong opening while black doesn't. 

After 9 moves you can see that white is doing a lot better than black.

3. Use tactics and combinations

When you use tactics and combinations it makes the games easier. You are using tricks that have been passed down through the history of chess. They are used to win games, material or to get a better position. Here is a list of tactics you can use!

4. Don't Leave Any Hanging Pieces

Hanging pieces are pieces that have no protection at all. In the diagram below black was hanging when it took the white Knight. The black had no protection and that's why it got taken.

5. Don't Get Discouraged!!!

One thing that a lot of players do is give up and not play games when they lose a lot. You shouldn't get discouraged because the more you play the better you get!
