Build Your Own Wall

This is the 5th "brick" of my Changing the World, One Brick at a Time series, and today I shall teach you how to change the world yourself, one brick at a time.

To start off, you want to know if you want to change the world. This is the question that really determines how your bricks will start, if you have a big wall, or a crumbled mess, and what your future would look like. I, obviously, have accepted to attempt to change the world, one brick at a time. Now, before you nod your head "yes" and go off trying to change the government, you should first understand the process, the length, and the cost.

Process is one of the most important parts of building your wall. If you don't know the process, your wall will fail. First of all: you can't instantly build the whole wall, you have to slowly increment to reach your end goal of changing the world. Second of all: you can't go running around trying to make everyone like something off topic like pineapple on pizza, you got to contribute meaningful things like changing school systems or improving laws. Third of all: you got to accept not everyone will accept you, you can't please everyone, so don't expect you to be famous. Now that you understand the process, let's go to length.

Length is one of the random parts of changing the world. You could achieve your goals in 5 "bricks" or it could take more than you can get in a lifetime. In order to make this length as short as possible, make every single brick count. No semi-finished products, no "part 2 coming soon" unless you actually need to, no leaving cliff hangers. Your series shouldn't be trying to stay on topic, it should explore all topics, and if you have unfinished products, you get less people. You're not writing a book series, you're writing about how you would change the world, and you can't change the world by focusing on views. So now that you got length, you're going to want to know the cost.

The cost is one of the most important parts, and also the part that makes most people back down. Going on this journey will get you socially outcast in some places, and sometimes make you a target in political debates because people disagree with you. Sometimes your ideas will fail, you'll turn into a meme, and you'll get mocked, but if you want to change the world, you must get through this. You may also risk losing friends over this, be seen as weird, and sometimes in order to do this, you must devote most of your time to this.

I am also going to say some common misconceptions for this topic: You are never to young to start. An 8 year old could decide they want to make recess last all day, and later they end up attempting to change how school systems work. You are never too young, you could start now. Another misconception: You don't have to state you're trying to change the world. You can go on building your own wall without telling anyone. Another misconception: You don't have to copy others. Choose your own path, create your own versions of reality, create a whole new political party for all I care, but be you. If you copy others, people will notice. You can start out copying others, but you can't use them forever, just like how when learning to walk, eventually you'll have to do it on your own.

That's all I want to discuss for my 5th "brick," so I hope you use this knowledge for good purposes. And just so you know: sometime around, my bricks will no longer just be here, i'll actually be doing stuff in real life, not just writing articles, and that's one thing you should do to. Have a great day!
